In theory, this is the summer edition of my newsletter. Although we are almost into September, hopefully we will have a late summer!
My big news is that I am taking over the Electro Studio gallery in West St Leonards at the end of October 2025, well, for a week! I am using both spaces downstairs & upstairs. I currently still have work at Barnabys, 46 Robertson Street, Hastings. The exhibition ends this weekend, so it's not long to see it! Please look at my events page for more information.
As I said above, I have a big exhibition coming up at the end of October and will take over the Electro studio project space in West Saint Leonard's. I have the space for a week this time and plan to complete a painting from scratch in the downstairs space while recording it. I am also planning to host a workshop on Friday, 31 October 2025, and there will be live music on Friday evening at the private view. The show will continue over the weekend of 1 and 2. November. During the summer, I was invited to the Battle Art Group space to perform a demonstration of my work and talk about my life in the art world. I showed my painting techniques, which have possibly not been seen in the Battle Memorial Hall before, and even more unexpected to their members, the very flowery descriptions of my artwork titles! I was somewhat apprehensive as I had not done such a demonstration before, although I had taught art. But I have to say I was warmly welcomed by Janne Lesley, who organises the demonstration events and the rest of the Battle art group, and it was a very enjoyable experience and one I would happily do again.
Finally, I have a new feature, a sales page to be released four times a year, entitled Marks Salon to all my newsletter readers roughly two weeks after each newsletter. The first sales page will have old works at a special discounted price, as it's my first one. I also plan to produce prints as a limited edition of future new work.
